I guess only a dad who used to be a teacher would drag his daughters to visit a school in the middle of their summer break. I’m proud to be that dad. #theeducationdad
What’s saving my life this summer
I believe life gives you what you need when you need it. Right now, given my alternating state of brooding and contemplation, what’s saving my life are the moments of levity we’ve experienced as a family. And I’m so thankful for it.
Control Issues
What am I trying to control outside myself because of a lack of control inside myself?
Clearing Space. Preparing for Summer.
It seems that while summer brings the fun, it also brings with it unanswered questions about how we’ll spend our time.
The aftermath
I’m glad that I took the gamble to run. I’m honored that so many people took the gamble to support our campaign. I wouldn’t exchange these past few months for anything.
Do it scared. Anyway.
Fear is natural, and like any other emotion, it’s our response to fear that matters.
Can’t get back the time, so spend it wisely
I’ve always believed that time works for us, not the other way around. It’s just a matter of deciding how we’ll spend it.
Join the club
I’m finding that I just have less capacity to hold space for things that don’t matter, and that’s definitely a good thing.
Honoring our stories
The best we can do is honor our own stories as they unfold, and give ourselves (and each other) necessary grace.
Soul Care
Like tending to a plant that grows, so must we tend to our souls.
