Why I hate school, but love education

Lately I’ve been reading the book, The Global Achievement Gap: Why Even Our Best Schools Don’t Teach the New Survival Skills Our Children Need and What we can do about it. This video by the spoken word artist Suli Breaks is a great reminder of the fact that right now, our educational system isn’t built to help students critical think, create, innovate, collaborate, effectively communicate, or be curious about the world around them. What does that mean then for the types of future citizens we’re producing?
