We should all be reflecting in this moment about what we value, and ask ourselves, is this a reflection of those values? (Notice I didn’t say, what you believe. Beliefs are different than values). I suspect that even for those of us on opposite sides of the conversation, we likely share some similar values. Perhaps we should start there as our way forward together.

If we know what we truly regret, we know what we truly value. 

As we like to say to one another every time a member of the village comes through, we all we got.

You know that moment you have that stops you in your tracks? The ones that make you smile from ear to ear, or laugh so hard you might cry… Moments that temporarily make you loose a sense of place and time because all that matters right now is this place and time? That’s joy. And for black folks, it’s not simply a luxury, but it’s a necessity.
